Bergstaff Place Wedding in Fort Wayne | Angela & David

Planning for an amazing atmosphere and a relaxed day for their wedding, Angela and David Ruiz had the most epic Bergstaff Place wedding in Fort Wayne on July 22, 2023! The love they share was clear throughout their entire day, and I’m so excited to share their wedding day!

Bergstaff Place wedding in Fort Wayne

Both Angela and David live in Fort Wayne, so choosing to get married in their hometown was easy, especially with so many incredible venues available. But it was also important to them to incorporate their faith into their day, so they chose to split the day with their Catholic wedding ceremony at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church and celebrate their marriage with their friends and family at Bergstaff Place in Fort Wayne.

Angela, along with her bridesmaids, got ready with hair and makeup at Angela’s brother David’s house. Yes, funny enough – Angela has her brother David and now husband David, as we affectionally called them throughout the wedding day! The home was absolutely gorgeous, and the natural lighting inside made this photographer’s heart so happy. With delicious breakfast treats on the coffee table, the ladies could be comfortable and relax as they got ready to celebrate with Angela.

Arriving at the church, David was waiting in the beautiful garden on the grounds for his first look with Angela. When he turned around to see her for the first time, they were both so elated to finally be with each other again.

Of course, almost every wedding day has a few challenges to overcome, and the Ruiz wedding was no exception. But the way David and Angela were able to gracefully handle the challenges was quite the testament to how they will handle the challenges they will ultimately face together in marriage. Of course, they had the very best people in their wedding party to support and love on them all day long.

One of my favorite details Angela incorporated was her something old, which was a watch from her grandfather. She wrapped it delicately around her bouquet to carry with her all day, and I loved that she was able to incorporate this special item that represented someone so special to her.

After a beautiful church ceremony, Angela and David, along with their wedding party, boarded the Fine Line Trolley for a fun tour of downtown Fort Wayne. We were able to ride along with the group, making stops at Lincoln Bank Tower and The Landing, before we headed to the reception and the wedding party hung out downtown.

Walking into Bergstaff Place, it was easy to see why Angela and David chose the venue for their reception. There is a centralized dance floor, with tables placed around it, making it easy for all their guests to get on the floor and see all the dancing. The venue had a separate space for Ceruti’s Catering to set up the buffet, which was kept everything flowing so smoothly.

Angela and David incorporated lilac and light yellow throughout the reception, with beautiful centerpieces of purple flowers in a vase with sliced lemon, with a cookie at each place setting. It was clear they had planned the reception with a lot of intentionality to make it elegant but simple.

The reception kicked off with spontaneous dancing with David’s mother and a groomsman, leading Angela and David onto the floor for their first dance. They followed with David dancing with his mother Rosalba for two songs, one selected by David and one by Rosalba. Their dance definitely left me with tears in my eyes as I thought about dancing with my son at his wedding some day. Watching them, it was obvious how much David and Rosalba care for one another.

Angela and her father Rick shared a special dance together, before inviting all the couples to join them on the dance floor. We were able to sneak Angela and David out for a few portraits before leaving them to enjoy the rest of their evening with their friends and family!

Angela and David, I’m absolutely honored that you chose me as your wedding photographer! Seeing the way you two cherish one another, I know you will cultivate an amazing marriage and have some grand adventures as you move forward in life.

I hope you enjoy your previews from your Bergstaff Place wedding in Fort Wayne, and I look forward to sharing your full gallery very soon! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ruiz!
