It’s hard to believe that it was only a little over two years ago when Kathleen and Michael met for the first time. But spending time with them during their spring engagement session at Wildcat Creek Reservoir Park, I can say these two truly love spending time together and find joy in doing so.
I’m so thankful that Kathleen and Michael trust me to be their wedding photographer, and I’m so excited to share their Wildcat Creek Reservoir spring engagement photos on the blog!
In March 2021, Kathleen had been working in Fishers for 4 years, and her boss asked if she’d want to go on a date with her cousin Michael. As they say, the rest is history! Michael applied for the DNR while they were dating, and after graduation, he was placed in South Bend, so Kathleen moved to be with him.
Michael spent last summer collecting diamonds from their grandmas to create a special engagement ring for Kathleen. In December, he asked Kathleen where she wanted to go, so she picked a bar they hadn’t been to before. Of course, a bar wasn’t going to work for his proposal plan, so he came up with Plan B.
Before they went in, he pulled out the ring and explained how the diamonds came from their grandmas and how he had pulled it together. But Kathleen said he never asked her to actually marry him! But Kathleen shared that his grandparents had also gotten engaged in a car, so it made their proposal both unique and special.
Not to leave you in suspense, but these two did in fact get engaged that night, and they are planning a beautiful Kokomo wedding in October!
With Michael working in parks and nature, Wildcat Creek Reservoir Park was the perfect location for their engagement session! We basically had the entire park to ourselves, and we had amazing weather, albeit a little chilly. But we had fantastic lighting for an overcast evening, and I had the best company to spend it with!
Kathleen and Michael are a perfect pair. They had so much fun together, even if they may have snickered at some of my prompts… but that may have been my plan to begin with, allowing us to capture those organic smiles and laughter.
Oh – I’m thrilled to share their Wildcat Creek Reservoir spring engagement photos with you. They are truly an amazing couple. After their engagement session, I am even more excited to photograph their wedding at The Venue in Kokomo, and I cannot wait to celebrate with them on their big day!
