Abi & Spencer’s love story is certainly one for the books, and their elegant wedding at The Hobson Kokomo was one I won’t forget anytime soon. These two radiated joy and love throughout their entire day, and there was no denying how happy their family and friends were for this union to be official!

Abi and Spencer’s sister Samantha were best friends in high school, so the two met when Abi was only 16. She never thought about dating him at the time, but a few years later, she was home from her junior year of college and they’d run into each other at the gym. They’d end up skipping their workouts to stay there talking until 2 AM.
Spencer brought in the help of Abi’s grandpa Mike Wyant, who ran We Care Park in Kokomo for many years. He gave Grandpa Wyant a call, and Spencer asked him to decorate We Care Park for his proposal near Valentine’s Day in 2020. Spencer made sure Abi’s family was there, and it made for an incredibly special moment for the two of them to share with their family.
I loved that they chose to get married in Kokomo, specifically at The Hobson, because her family has so much history with the town and the building where The Hobson is located. Her Grandpa Wyant passed his first ordinance as a councilman in the same building where she married Spencer, when it was city hall.
Abi and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready in the gorgeous bridal suite. Abi and Spencer opted to do a private letter reading prior to their wedding ceremony, instead of a first look, and it was hard to keep a dry eye in the room with just photographers and her videographer! It was very evident how much these two cherish one another, and the moment helped to ease some of their nerves and share some thoughts prior to their ceremony.
After the ceremony, the two shared a private dinner together in the bridal suite while their guests enjoyed cocktail hour. I hadn’t seen any couples do a private dinner together on their wedding day, but I loved it! It gives the couple about 30 minutes to just be together, share their first meal as a couple, and soak in the memories of the day so far. It also gave them a chance to sneak out for their couples portraits while their guests were enjoying dinner in the ballroom later. Such a great idea!
Samantha, Spencer’s sister, and Alisa, Abi’s cousin, gave such heartfelt toasts to the couple; this was one of my favorite parts of the night, because guests get to hear more about their love story and join in celebrating their marriage.
But the most important part of the night was opening the dance floor so all their friends and family could dance the night away! I haven’t seen a dance floor so full all night long as I did for Abi and Spencer. It was clear their family and friends love to have fun, and I found myself laughing most of the night.
One of my favorite parts of the day was when their guests headed outside to prepare for the grand exit at the end of the night, but Abi and Spencer stayed behind to share one last dance together before leaving their reception. Abi put on her custom made white jean jacket with Mrs. Faulkner on the back, and they shared this sweet private moment just the two of them to end their perfect day.
As they exited The Hobson, their friends and family cheered and donned glowsticks in celebration as they headed out for their new life as husband and wife. With one last kiss in front of The Hobson, it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
