It’s been a joy to watch the Kerkhoff family grow in the past year. One year to the date of this session, we photographed Charlie’s newborn session, and it’s crazy to think it’s already been a year! Their Ball State University family session was such a fun way to kick off my summer sessions!
I first met Jessica when we were both students at Ball State. I had the opportunity to work with her, and we have continued to stay in touch all these years later. It’s been so fun watching her grow in her relationship with Jordan and now with their baby Charlie. We had their maternity and newborn photos last year, and her sister Alyssa’s wedding last September. 2020 was certainly a big year for their family, and it was an honor to be a part of preserving their moments.
For their Ball State University family session, we were met with some humid weather, but they handled it like champs. Charlie was so expressive and happy for the majority of the session, which impressed me! My favorite photo from the session can be seen above, where she had just finished a round of clapping encouraged by Jordan — so sweet!
She definitely is not a fan of her feet touching the grass, but she loved how the cement felt under her little feet when we were taking her portraits. She also got in a round of practicing crawling, most likely trying to get away from the camera.
As always, we wrapped up the family session with some photos of just mom and dad to kick it back to the original two. They shared a lot of laughter together, and I loved every second of it.
Kerkhoff Family, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these sweet memories for you. It is always an honor and joy, and I’m so excited to share these sneak peeks with you!
