Faith & Robert’s Colorful BASH Venue Wedding in Carmel

Faith and Robert first met through their church, but it was with the help of their friends that they first started dating. About three years later, Robert popped the question, and Faith said yes! As they began to plan their colorful BASH venue wedding in Carmel, they had a unique vision that I knew would make their day incredibly special.

I knew their wedding day would be incredibly fun after we photographed their engagement session this fall. Faith and Robert would go weekly to Tappers Arcade Bar in Indianapolis to play Killer Queen with their friends, so we included some photos at the arcade during their session. It was obvious that they both have a ton of fun together and bring each other joy as they spend time together.

When I first arrived to kick off the day, Faith was hanging out with her bridesmaids and mom in the bridal suite at BASH. I loved that their timeline allowed the girls to spend some time relaxing before the events began. After Faith’s mom buttoned her into her dress, they all began to pray over Faith, and I won’t lie – I was crying as both Robert’s mom and Faith’s mom prayed over her before the ceremony.

They had chosen to head over to Coxhall Gardens in Carmel for their first look, where Faith and Robert spent some time taking in the moment under the willow trees. We had a blast photographing these two along with their wedding party and immediate family before we headed back to the venue to hide away before the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Faith and Robert participated in a handfasting ceremony, taking different ribbons from their families to bind their hands together as a symbol of binding their two lives. Faith’s mom and Robert’s mom bound their hands together, with the officiant binding their hands last with a white ribbon to symbolize God in their marriage. I loved that they included this unique tradition in their ceremony to bring special meaning to their day!

To kick off the reception, the couple and their guests headed out to enjoy Serendipity Mobile Catering. One of the reasons why they chose BASH for their wedding venue was they loved that it gave them the ability to provide a different kind of reception meal for their guests than traditional catering. With the food truck experience, their guests could customize their meal; it was definitely an unforgettable reception experience, and I know I enjoyed my Fleetwood Mac & Cheese sandwich at dinner!

As dinner wrapped up, both the best men and maids of honors gave toasts to celebrate the newlyweds, which is always a favorite part of the evening. The best men shared the story of how they helped to get Faith and Robert together, while the maids of honor shared about their relationship with Faith, the characteristics they have seen in Faith, and how they have seen Faith and Robert’s relationship blossom.

Wrapping up toasts, Faith’s dad Otto shared a beautiful toast to the wedding party, to the couple, and lastly to his parents and in-laws. It was hard to hold back the tears during his emotional toast, and it was a wonderful way to wrap up that portion of the reception events!

After the first dances, BRICS ice cream truck started serving up delicious ice cream cones and sundaes as guests headed out to the dance floor to dance the night away.

Faith & Robert, thank you so much for choosing me to capturing your beautiful wedding day. It was such an honor to be a part of your day, and your joy is absolutely contagious! I wish you both nothing but happiness and love as you grow in marriage with one another.
