Baby Clyde’s arrival at the end of August was a long awaited answer to prayers for Marla and Jacob. I’ve known these two for quite some time, so when Marla reached out to me in February to photograph their pregnancy announcement, I was over the moon excited to hear they were going to be parents! Then they gave me the honor of capturing their Kokomo newborn session and document Clyde Aaron’s first days in their world.

Clyde’s nursery was Pinterest-perfect, adorned in an adventure theme. I loved all the little details that Marla and Jacob incorporated into the room to pull together the theme, along with their color palette of navy, gold, and mint. They had a custom-made swaddle and hat for Clyde to wear, in navy with arrows and deer. I absolutely adored the uniqueness to this swaddle set – giving the perfect way to announce his arrival and name in photographs!
While he really wanted to fight us to fall asleep, a little hair dryer trick put this baby right to sleep for his newborn session. Then he slept soundly for the majority of the session… and now that I recall, not once did this baby cry the entire time I was at their home. He even gave us a few smiles that just made this photographer’s little heart melt editing these images!
These two are already amazing parents, and I can’t wait to watch little Clyde grow up. He’s brought a joyful couple so much more joy, and I can’t wait to see their family grow!
