When Reneé and Bill first began planning their December wedding, they both envisioned their day with an unfortunate snow storm that would hinder their day with family traveling in for their celebration. But much to their surprise, they couldn’t have had better December weather for their winter Portland Golf Club wedding.

Bill and Reneé first met in eighth grade, and they even dated while they were in high school. When they both went through separate divorces, these two reconnected and realized their one true soulmate was one another. They began dating, and Bill asked Reneé to be his wife in August. Planning their wedding was a breeze for Reneé as she had planned a number of weddings in her role as wedding coordinator at Ball State and as a current FACS teacher in Muncie.
They chose Zion Lutheran Church for their wedding ceremony, then they hosted a big party for their family and friends at Portland Golf Club in Portland, Indiana with dinner and dancing following their wedding ceremony.
I loved how these two included their children as their entire bridal party. Reneé’s daughter Morgan and Bill’s daughter Kyla spent the afternoon getting ready at the church together, and Morgan helped her mom into her dress and shoes, then helped her pick out her jewelry to wear for the day. Their grandchildren were the ring bearers and flower girl, and Bill’s sons along with Reneé’s son stood as groomsmen with Bill.
I loved how the wedding was a complete family affair, from having their children stand with them during the ceremony to the friends and family who designed the florals, the cake, and helped decorate the church and reception hall. The day before the wedding, the couple celebrated Reneé’s son Marek graduating from the Indiana police academy, and you wouldn’t even be able to tell that they had been so busy with the holidays and celebrating his graduation that they pulled together the decorating the morning of the wedding!
For it being December, I was just so thrilled we could take their portraits outside with such beautiful backdrops at the golf course. These two are totally in love, and it was such a joy to get to capture such an exciting, perfect day for the two of them!
