Sunset Engagement Photos in Noblesville, Indiana | Sydney & Grant

When Grant picked Sydney up for their first date in Fall 2020, she knew there was something refreshingly different about him. After a round of burgers, fries, and beers, Sydney did not want the night to end. And now? They are engaged, and have been getting burgers and beers ever since!

Grant and Sydney will become husband and wife in October 2024, and while I cannot wait for their wedding day, I am also so excited to share their sunset engagement photos in Noblesville!

Sydney and Grant first met on Hinge in Fall 2020. They spent 3-4 hours on a Facetime call, before their first date. When Grant offered to pick her up, she was so impressed, because it was the first time someone picked her up for a date.

They headed out to a restaurant near her house, enjoying some burgers, fries, and beers. But Sydney did not want the night to end, so she suggested going to a brewery across the street before she realized they were closed.

But their first date was just the beginning to their relationship, and less than three years later, Grant surprised Sydney again with an important question.

In January 2023, these two headed to Fort Wayne for the Fort Wayne Komets game versus Indy Fuel. You see, Sydney’s sister was coming to town, and Sydney’s parents gave Grant the idea to propose at the hockey game. Grant contacted the Komets facility, so they could get some time on the big screen.

However, while they were waiting for Sydney’s parents to arrive, Grant was pacing back and forth in the coliseum nervous they would not make it in time. He knew they’d be on the big screen within the first five minutes of the game, but thankfully they were seated and ready for the big moment.

As the moment unfolded, Grant turned to Sydney and said, “You probably want to stand up for this one,” and he proposed, asking her to be his wife. Sydney was so surprised, though a bit suspicious before the game, and she said yes!

I had initially met Sydney and Grant over a video call before they booked, and when I left our call, they were just one of those couples that I knew I’d be sad if they didn’t choose me to photograph their wedding. They are so fun and sweet, and I just enjoyed getting to know them.

After meeting them, I just couldn’t wait for their engagement session. We headed to downtown Noblesville, where Sydney and Grant spend some of their time, and we found an amazing mural near one of the restaurants downtown. While it was a warm day, we had the perfect temperatures in the shade where everyone could stay comfortable.

Working with Sydney and Grant was truly effortless. It felt like being with old friends, and I loved getting to know them more and hearing more about their wedding day plans. Plus, you’d never know that we shot in the same general area for their entire session. We didn’t need to go far for some amazing backdrops around downtown Noblesville.

I may have been gushing over their photos the entire session, and I may have raced back home to start going through them because I knew they were just *that* good. They clearly love each other well and share so much joy when they are together; it was truly effortless working with them.

They will be married at one of my favorite venues – BASH in Carmel – next October, and I just cannot wait to celebrate and capture their amazing wedding day!
