Private Property Wedding in Winchester, Indiana | Riley & Kiernan

Riley and Kiernan have shared quite the love story over the last 11 years, first meeting when Riley was 14 and Kiernan was 16, but becoming husband and wife on October 7, 2023 with their beautiful private property wedding in Winchester, Indiana tops all the adventures these two have shared over the years!

I can’t even begin to tell you how honored I was when Riley reached out to me, asking me to photograph their wedding. You see, I have actually known both Riley and Kiernan since about the time they first met. Kiernan was in my English 11 class when I was a teacher at Winchester, and Riley’s family went to my church; I had spent many nights out at her grandparents’ house for small group, so I was so excited to be a part of their long-awaited wedding day!

After dating for about a year in high school, Kiernan and Riley spent some time apart until Summer 2018 when Riley reached out to Kiernan on Snapchat. Not long after their first date in May 2018, they made it official, and Kiernan proposed in November 2022.

Riley and Kiernan shared a common vision for their wedding day: bringing all the people they love who have been a part of their relationship together in a place where they celebrate the commitment they are making to one another. With this vision in mind, it made pulling together all the details for the wedding relatively easy!

The day started at Riley’s parents’ home, where her bridesmaids, flower girls, and moms were getting ready, while Kiernan and the groomsmen got ready in the barn on the property. After photographing all the details, getting ready, and first look with the bridesmaids, Riley was ready for her first look with Kiernan!

As Riley approached Kiernan, they were both simply beaming. Riley tapped Kiernan on the shoulder, he turned around, and they both immediately shared a hug and kiss, soaking up the moment of seeing each other for the first time before they become husband and wife. The lighting was absolutely incredible, and her parents’ home offered so many incredible spots for their portraits.

Their wedding day ushered in the cooler fall temperatures, along with quite a bit of wind. However, Riley, Kiernan, and their entire wedding party braved the cooler temperatures in order to get some incredible portraits before heading off to another home in Winchester for their ceremony.

And as Riley promised, the trees that surrounded their ceremony site blocked all the wind and allowed Riley and Kiernan to have the perfect wedding ceremony. Even though Riley and Kiernan shared a first look prior to the ceremony, I still saw a glimmer of a tear in Kiernan’s eye as he watched his beautiful bride walk toward him to become his wife.

After Riley and Kiernan were pronounced husband and wife, guests celebrated by blowing bubbles as they walked down the aisle, with so much joy radiating from Riley and Kiernan as they were finally married!

After family portraits, the wedding party introduction, and a delicious dinner from Hoosier Que Daddy Too, Kiernan’s best man Arick, Riley’s maid of honor Autumn, and her matron of honor and sister Sierra all shared a toast in celebration of the couple. Riley and Kiernan opened the dance floor with a few special dances, before the rest of their guests joined them for an anniversary dance.

We ended our night with Riley and Kiernan with the most incredible sunset that I’ve had in my nearly 10-year career as a photographer. Seriously, I can’t wait to share because they are *so* good! I couldn’t help but keep gushing as Riley and Kiernan were in front of the camera.

It was absolutely perfect and such a reflection of your love and the love you share with your family and friends, from start to finish! I’m so honored to have been your wedding photographer for such an incredibly important day in your relationship, as you start your marriage.
