Baby Eliza made her grand entrance in February, with her mom Amber and dad Kirk welcoming her with happy hearts. This particular Columbus Fresh 48 session was incredibly special to me, as I celebrated my sweet baby niece’s arrival!

Eliza was born just a week after her expected due date, with a head full of beautiful dark brown hair – an unexpected surprise to both of her parents! Amber and Kirk had chosen to keep the baby’s name to themselves until her official arrival, so I loved that Amber had crafted a soft pink onesie with Eliza’s name for her to wear after her arrival. It was a beautiful way to announce her to their world.
Eliza was totally happy to be wrapped up and cozy, but she did not like when we took the blanket away to capture some photos of her onesie. But we were still able to get some great photos during their Fresh 48 session, along with some new family photos when she was less than 24 hours old.
Fresh 48 sessions are such a perfect opportunity to capture all the newness of your sweet baby. It’s hard to believe how quickly babies change just in the first 24 hours, let alone the days between birth and their newborn session. Having the opportunity to capture exactly how your baby looked when they were born is one memory that you will never regret having.
I’m grateful Amber and Kirk allowed me to photograph these beautiful photos for them to always remember those first hours with their first baby, their sweet daughter, and I’m so excited for Eliza’s much-anticipated arrival to our family. She’s an absolute doll baby! Enjoy these sneak peeks!
