Dreamy Spring Engagement Session at Ball State University | Wes + Kevin

While Wes and Kevin officially met when Wes moved to Orlando, their spring engagement session at Ball State University was a flashback to a year ago when Wes proposed to Kevin at Ball State while they were home visiting family.

Getting to work with Wes and Kevin is incredibly special, because I photographed Wes’s sister Cassie’s wedding in Wabash back in 2018. Wes and Kevin were such an integral part of her day, so I had gotten to know them a little bit then. But when I saw they got engaged last year, I couldn’t help but be so excited for the whole family, knowing how much these two love one another.

Wes and Kevin first met through social media in 2016 after Wes moved to Florida. He said he had seen Kevin on social media before, but it wasn’t the right time. But once he moved, he knew it was time to figure out if it was the right thing.

They had their first date at a burger place and went for a drink after that. They said the relationship just took off from there, where they both just felt very comfortable, and after a while, they realized the other person wasn’t going anywhere.

While Wes proposed at Ball State, Kevin also had a proposal up his sleeve. Later in the fall, he put together an “Amazing Race” style scavenger hunt that lasted all day, recruiting their friends to help. Of course, they both said yes, and they are planning their wedding for October 2022.

These two have an amazing vision for their wedding day, and I cannot wait to see it come to life this fall. Wes and Kevin, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph this special time in your lives. Enjoy your sneak peeks!
