I’m so excited to share Melissa and Kieran’s amazing spring engagement session at Holcomb Gardens! These two were a ton of fun to work with, and I’m looking forward to their wedding this June!
Melissa and Kieran first met through their church, where they were both serving on the production team. Neither of them were on staff at the time, though both work there now, but Melissa was going through their leadership program. Together, they both ran one of the extended campuses for the church for a time and enjoyed serving alongside each other.
Melissa was hired at the church in October 2020, and Kieran was hired in February 2021. When I asked about how they started dating, Kieran shared there was a lot of games of ping pong involved, which started as a group activity where small group would meet to play ping pong. They officially started dating in September 2021, and they knew they wanted to get married.
Kieran was waiting for the perfect moment to ask Melissa to marry him. At the beginning of April, they were out trying a new place that they may want to use for a church event, when Melissa suggested going for a walk together. Kieran knew this would be the perfect moment to ask Melissa, and of course she said yes!
April showers certainly tried to wash away our chances at getting their session in this month. On the original day we had planned to photograph their session, the rain didn’t let it happen. We postponed until the following week, but looking at the forecast the weekend before, our chances of it working on that day looked slim. The day before, I contacted Melissa and we made a plan to move the engagement session to that day since the weather was perfect.
I was so glad both of our schedules allowed for the move because I had never seen Holcomb Gardens so empty before! There are usually runners, bikers, and other photographers, but it was like we had the entire place to ourselves on a gorgeous day.
Their session certainly didn’t disappoint! These two were so fun to hang out with, and I really enjoyed getting to know them and laughing together. They are planning their wedding for a Monday in June, which is so neat! Since they both work for the church and have coworkers they’d like to invite, Monday worked out best since they have it off work. I love a unique wedding day, and I know this one is going to be a blast!
Enjoy the sneak peeks from their engagement session at Holcomb Gardens!
