While Katie & Jeremy both attended Purdue University for college, they never met until they found each other as a match on an dating website. While their conversations got serious at the beginning of their relationship, Katie knew after their second date that there was something different about Jeremy. This fall, Jeremy proposed after church, and now these two get to marry their best friend. Jeremy is a seventh generation farmer, with his family owning a sheep farm in Delaware County, so it seemed perfect to plan for a winter farm engagement on their property.
Katie and Jeremy both admitted prior to their session that they are awkward people, but this is exactly why I offer a complimentary engagement session with each wedding collection. Most of us haven’t spent much time in front of the camera with a professional photographer, so first of all, it’s important for you to get comfortable in front of the camera. Secondly, it gives me an opportunity to get to know you and see what poses work best for you as a couple.
But to be honest, these two were just so adorable together that it’s hard to believe that they are even slightly awkward. Their joy of being together was contagious, and I don’t know that I saw a time when they weren’t laughing or smiling while they were together. Plus, we had a blast trying to corral the sheep out into the field long enough to get some photos with them! This was certainly an engagement session for the books.
I had a blast working with Katie and Jeremy, and I can’t wait for their wedding in March. It’s going to be beautiful because these two are such a great complement for one another. My favorite part of these two is that they are just so excited to get married, that they couldn’t care less about the details of the day. They just want to spend the rest of their life with their best friend, and that’s what a marriage should be all about.
