Union 12 Wedding in Columbia City, Indiana

I could think of no better way to wrap up the 2023 wedding season than Naomi and Jose’s Union 12 wedding in Columbia City, Indiana! On a perfect fall Friday evening – October 27, 2023 – Jose and Naomi became husband and wife surrounded by their family and closest friends.

Their wedding day at Union 12 was truly one to remember, from how stunning Naomi looked to the gorgeous reception details, not to mention the amazing hospitality of their families. With their incredible attention to detail, they had the most incredible wedding, and I’m so honored to have photographed their amazing day!

Naomi and Jose started their day with both getting ready at Union 12 in the gorgeous home right on the property. Naomi and her girls used the bridal suite and first floor, while Jose and his groomsmen spent the afternoon getting ready upstairs.

While Naomi finished hair and makeup, we started photographing all the details, including her stunning, glittery bridal gown. I loved that Naomi kept it simple with the details, giving us a lot of freedom to be creative with what was important to her that day.

While she and Jose opted to forego the first look and see each other for the first time at the ceremony, Naomi asked her father David to share a first look with her before wedding party portraits began. As soon as David saw Naomi, they both teared up, and it was then that I could see the incredible bond that Naomi shares with her family.

Naomi presented David with an engraved pair of cufflinks as a gift, which had them both trying to hold back the tears again. After they shared their moment, we rounded up Jose and the groomsmen to start wedding party portraits.

I always love seeing the personalities of the couple with the people closest to them, and their wedding party portraits did not disappoint. Naomi and her bridesmaids looked absolutely radiant, and without a first look, we had some extended time to spend photographing the gorgeous Naomi before the ceremony.

After the wedding party portraits, we headed back to the ceremony area on the back patio for a few family portraits we could take without Jose and Naomi seeing each other. But then it was time to tuck the wedding party and family away to prepare for the ceremony.

I was truly in awe of the detail that Naomi and her family put into all of the reception decor. Everything looked absolutely perfect, and The Charcuterie Shop provided a gorgeous table for their guests to graze on while we photographed family portraits after the ceremony.

Naomi walked out the doors of Union 12 down the aisle to Jose, with her grandpa by her side. You see, David, Naomi’s father, was also officiating Naomi and Jose’s ceremony, so he stepped in right as Grandpa and Naomi hit the end of the aisle to walk her down to her groom.

During the ceremony, they were gifted a Bible, and they participated in the special tradition of the wedding lasso, orchestrated by Naomi’s grandparents. Naomi’s mother Laura shared that the lasso is the same one that was used during Naomi’s grandparents’ wedding day, which made it even more special to be included in their ceremony.

Naomi and Jose were pronounced husband and wife, and after a brief celebration, we wrapped up their family portraits before heading out with their whole wedding party!

We truly could not have asked for better weather for their late October wedding day. With the forecast showing rain on and off again leading up to Friday, I was not sure what we’d be working with on that day. But with lots of cloud cover, it gave us lots of opportunity for stunning portraits all over the property for Naomi, Jose, and their wedding party.

But my favorite photos of the day will forever be the portraits of Naomi and Jose. The sun had been peeking through the clouds on and off throughout their ceremony, family portraits, and wedding party photos. But just as we wrapped up all those photos, dense clouds rolled in, and we had the most amazing overcast sky. We headed out to an open path in the field, and with the fall foliage behind them, I could have photographed them all day!

But as we wrapped up their portraits before the grand entrance to the reception, we were able to use the bridge over the pond as well as the island in the middle of the pond for some epic portraits, as well.

As Naomi and Jose made their grand entrance to the reception as husband and wife, the wedding party surprised them with streamer poppers, before their first dance and a delicious meal from Dos Margaritas. After the ceremony, Naomi was ready to be with her guests, so she spent time after dinner visiting each table to talk with their friends and family.

After dinner, the celebration continued with amazing toasts, special dances, and cake cutting before the dance floor opened for their guests to enjoy. After the bouquet and garter toss, all their guests headed out for a sparkler celebration where Naomi and Jose ran through the sparklers, ending with a kiss, before heading back inside to dance the night away.

This Union 12 wedding in Columbia City, Indiana was truly one for the books! Naomi and Jose were so thoughtful in all the details of their day, and I know it will be a day that they cherish for the rest of their lives.
