Kara and Shawn first met through an online dating website, and they started dating in October 2015. Since then, they have continued to create their life together with two furbabies – Ghost and Ryder, their two German shepherds – and they purchased their first house together in 2020. I loved getting to hang out with and get to know them during their springtime engagement session in Kokomo this week!

One of the first things Kara told me they enjoyed doing together was taking their dogs for hikes, so when we started planning their engagement session location, Jackson Morrow Park in Kokomo seemed like the perfect place with their amazing hiking trails and big trees. After a rainy weekend leading up to their session, it turned out to be the most perfect day for their session with a warm breeze and gorgeous light peeking through the blooming trees.
They are planning their wedding for October 2022, and one of the main reasons they booked their engagement session to have some beautiful photos to use for their Save the Dates. I love that! While they are still working on nailing down some of the details for their wedding, they are planning for a rustic barn wedding somewhere in Indiana where they can have fun with their family and friends and enjoy celebrating their marriage.
I really enjoyed getting to know both of them, hearing more about their relationship and their interests, and getting to celebrate this next season of their relationship with some beautiful photos. I have a feeling they may have a bit of a challenge picking just one photo from the bunch to use for their Save the Dates!
