When both of Leisa’s kids were coming to town for Independence Day holiday, I was so excited to get to capture this Matter Park family session for them! Extended family sessions are not only such a fun time for the family to be together, but they are so very important for documenting each season of life as the family continues to grow.
This session was also extra special for me because I actually work with Leisa! She’s a special education teacher at my school corporation, and she’s so talented at what she does! My husband Ryan and I actually went to school with her son Brayden and his wife Christine back in the day, so when I was hired to work for the school corporation, it was crazy how small our world got!
Leisa invited her mom and Jerry invited his dad, and it made for such a fun generational session that I know they will treasure forever. We had a lot of giggles together, and it was very obvious how much the grandparents and great-grandparents adore their grandchildren. With everyone living in completely separate parts of the country, they did an amazing job on coordinating their outfits for the session too! I loved the pink, white, and chambray palette that they chose, and it allowed each member of the family to wear what they felt most comfortable in!
With Matter Park being so close to us in Marion, Indiana and Leisa’s love for flowers, it seemed like the perfect choice for their session. The gardens are such a secret gem, and I hope to get to photograph more sessions here in the future. I am so excited to share some sneak peeks from their session! Hope you enjoy!
