Lena + Nolan’s Brown County Inn Wedding

Lena and Nolan are married! Their Brown County Inn wedding was absolutely perfect, with their ceremony taking place in front of the gorgeous foliage in the trees with their friends and family there to support and celebrate with them.

When Lena first reached out about their fall wedding in Brown County, I was so excited to hear more about their plans. Nashville, Indiana is a great destination for seeing all the fall foliage, and Brown County Inn is one of my family’s favorite spots to go for a quick getaway. When she shared they were having a Brown County Inn wedding, I knew it was going to be a great day for the two of them.

Lena and Nolan first met when they were working in a previous job. They had a group of people who would hang out, but eventually the two of them broke off and hung out by themselves. The rest was history!

In June 2021, Nolan had planned to propose to Lena during a hike with a friend photographing it from the trees. But after work on a Friday night when there was a big thunderstorm, Nolan remembered their first date was a similar night and decide on a whim to propose. They had talked about how things had changed in their relationship and how they couldn’t see not being together, so he asked and Lena said yes!

We started the afternoon with Lena and her bridesmaids getting ready in one of the suites. After all the details were photographed, Lena started to get ready for the day. Nolan and his groomsmen were getting ready in one of the hotel rooms, and after Nolan was ready, we were able to step out into the courtyard where he put on the watch that Lena picked for him and had engraved! Such a sweet, thoughtful gift.

After we photographed Nolan and his groomsmen, we were ready for the ceremony! Lena and Nolan chose to wait until the ceremony to see each other, and it made for a really sweet moment when Nolan saw Lena for the first time. After the ceremony and wedding party photos were finished, Nolan and Lena finally had a moment to themselves. I asked Nolan, “Was it worth the wait to see her?” He said that he knew she was going to be gorgeous, but he was not prepared to be blown away when he saw her. Cue the tears!

The sun was just starting to set as we took their couples portraits, giving us some incredible light as we wandered behind Brown County Inn on the trail that leads to downtown Nashville. Lena, Nolan, and their wedding party rocked it into their reception to celebrate finally being married with all their family and friends. They had a taco bar, complete with chips and queso – my personal favorite.

The reception kicked off with some amazing toasts, delicious cake, fun dances, and finally the open dance floor, where everyone stayed warm with dancing next to the heaters as cooler temperatures set in. As the night progressed, it was obvious that Lena and Nolan are both very much loved by all of their guests who were so happy to celebrate their marriage.

Lena and Nolan, I’m so excited for the two of you and this new adventure – married life! I wish you both nothing but joy, love, and happiness as you continue in your relationship and grow in love with one another.
