When the McKinneys contacted me again this fall to shoot their Kokomo family session, I couldn’t have been more excited – especially knowing that Sandy’s specific request was for a shot to place over the mantle in their newly built home.
I first started my photography business in 2013, just on my pure passion for capturing people and the ones they love. After advertising on some Facebook pages, Sandy and Adam booked me for their family session in December of that year.
The night before their session, it snowed the most it had all season, and I wasn’t even sure if I’d make it to their session. I told him I would try to get to Kokomo if they were up for standing in the snow to get some photos. I knew they were my kind of people when they were excited for snowy photos!
While a lot has changed since 2013 – for my business, for Sandy and Adam’s family – much remains the same. These family is full of good-hearted, fun-loving people that I had the pleasure to meet again this fall. Almost three years later, the kids have grown *so* much that it was hard to recognize the people they grew into.
It was so fun for me to get to work with them again after three years and be able to compare back to the photos we took on that snowy day in December. I’m so thankful for the McKinney family trusting me with capturing their amazing, beautiful family just as they are – no matter the age or year. It’s a privilege that I don’t take lightly.
Can’t wait to see what photo you choose for your mantle!
