For three years, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing this sweet baby’s big milestones with the Waegelin family. With her newborn session and first birthday session taking place at home, we decided to do an Indianapolis winter family studio session on a Saturday morning to give a different background for these special photos.
At age 2, sweet baby E’s personality is really starting to shine through. She had already told her mama on the way to the studio that she wasn’t wanting to take any photos. But we quickly changed her mind and got lots of sweet photos with her parents to get started. I love that the Waegelins always incorporate reading “Happy Birthday to You!” by Dr. Seuss to her at her session, and there are lots of sweet messages from family and friends written while she was still waiting to make her appearance to the world. It will be such a sweet tradition they will continue as she continues to grow up.
Jessica has had a shirt made for E’s birthday each year, and I absolutely adore the one for this year. Her birthday party was llama-themed, so a llama shirt was a great fit to wear for the party and for her birthday photos. We were even able to incorporate her llama balloon in for a few photos, which was a super festive touch!
At the end of the session, we were able to distract her long enough to get some photos of just mom and dad together. I even recruited her help to take some of the photos, which definitely brought smiles to mom and dad’s face. We ended the session with a round of Itsy Bitsy Spider, which brought so many giggles and smiles to her face – the perfect way to end her second birthday session!
Thank you to the Waegelins for trusting me and choosing me to capture such special moments for your family. Hope being 2 brings so much joy to your lives as you watch her continue to grow!
