Indianapolis Bottleworks Engagement Session

Lauren and James are one of the most hilarious couples you’ll ever meet. I was so excited to finally meet them for their Indianapolis Bottleworks engagement session last week, because it gave me the opportunity to hang out and get to know them better!

When I meet with couples, part of it is to get to know them and share more about how I get to serve them during all the way through their wedding day. But the other important piece of meeting with couples is making sure we are a great fit. You spend a heck of a lot of time with your photographer leading up to your wedding, then at your engagement session and on your wedding day.

But when I met Lauren and James, I knew I’d be disappointed if they didn’t book me.

I ended our call so excited to have gotten to know them, hear their story, hear about their wedding day plans, and hoped to get to continue our relationship into their wedding day. I was so ecstatic when they officially booked!

In June 2021, James and his parents went up to visit Lauren and her parents. The two sets of parents hadn’t ever met, so under that guise, James planned for a visit to University of Michigan where Lauren attended, and she played tour guide for their families. While they were walking around campus, James asked Lauren to marry him, and of course she said yes!

For their engagement session, they told me they chose Bottleworks district in Indianapolis because it’s where they head when they are looking for a fun date night. There is such cool architecture that we just spent their session walking around scoping out cool locations and chatting along the way.

It was a rare moment that one of them wasn’t making the other laugh. It was obvious that they have so much joy and fun together, and I loved every second of capturing that during their session.

They are planning a fun winter wedding at BASH in December on their 6th dating anniversary, and they are both looking forward to having their families together in one place and the amazing reception they are planning where they get to celebrate with their family and friends!
