Erika and Conner first met in Florida about four years ago, while Conner was visiting the area where Erika was living at the time. Four years later, Conner asked Erika to be his wife, and of course she said yes! Their Fort Wayne Indiana farm engagement session was a perfect way to capture their engagement, right where Conner proposed.

When these two first met, Conner was attending school in Ohio, but had traveled to Florida for vacation. Erika and Conner matched on a dating app while he was visiting, and they met up on the beach to hang out. Erika shared that her parents also met on a Florida beach, so looking back, it seemed like fate that they would meet the same way!
After his trip, he headed back to school and they just stayed in contact through social media. They started sending messages through Snapchat and finally Conner told her that he wanted to come visit her. He headed down to Florida that summer, and they have been inseparable since!
But Erika knew that long distance wasn’t going to work, so if she wanted the relationship to work, she needed to move closer to him. Conner was in the Fort Wayne area at the time, so Erika found a teaching job there and made the move to continue to grow their relationship.
Conner had originally planned to propose to Erika in Chicago with her family present. But when he shared they would go in a small plane flown by his friend, Erika decided she didn’t want to go, so he had to come up with another proposal plan.
Erika said the first thing that Conner ever told her was that he would take her to a Luke Bryan concert because she had listed him as a musical interest in her dating profile. Conner bought them tickets to see Luke Bryan in October 2019. On their way to drop the dogs off before the concert, Conner’s mom called and said her car had broken down and she was on the side of the road. When they pulled up and got out of the car, his mom said that it was a great spot to take some photos and offered to take some of the two of them before the concert. Before Erika knew it, Conner was down on one knee asking her to marry him, and Erika cried and said yes!
For their engagement session, we headed out to his parents’ and grandparents’ property, near the spot Conner proposed. These two were a blast to hang out with, and I enjoyed getting to know them more during our time together. They couldn’t help but laugh together for most of the session, and I could tell from our short time together that they genuinely love spending time together.
They will be getting married this September at Union 12 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Erika fell in love with the venue, but their availability was booked all the way until 2021 when they first got engaged. With everything going on with the COVID-19 pandemic, a September date became available and they were able to book their wedding at their dream venue one week after their original date! I’m so excited to get to photograph their wedding day and capture their wedding day celebrations this fall!
