Another beautiful fall season has come and gone, and I’ve had another year with the precious Diener family. We always visit the same park for their session, which I find so sentimental and beautiful. Mostly, it’s a great way for us to visibly see how much these two little ones have grown over the year, and I love that seeing them each year has allowed them to grow comfortable enough with me that they will let me play, tickle, and chase them to bring out those smiles. I am grateful that the Dieners choose me for their fall Kokomo family sessions, and they allow me to keep filling those frames on their walls year after year with these precious images of their family and kiddos.

The week leading up to their session brought lots of rain and wind through Indiana, and I just kept hoping that the leaves could hang on just a little bit longer through the weekend. The fall was booked solid with weddings and sessions, but it has seemed that fall’s peak comes later each year, and its duration is so short. I didn’t think I’d luck out to have any sessions with the gorgeous fall foliage, but we hit gold with the Dieners’ session. Those trees were a lovely shade of orange, and the sun soaked them in the golden goodness as the kids ran and played throughout the entire session.
After photographing this family for three years, the kids know me and are willing to play along with all of my suggestions. During this sessions, they got to run away from mommy and daddy, and later I had them use the blanket to drag the kiddos across the park, which ended in some of my favorite photos from the session.
And of course, we ended the session the way I end all family sessions – with a few quick photos of just mom and dad. While the two little ones were wrapped up with a blanket reading books, we were able to get some amazing photos of just the two of them that they can cherish for many years after the kiddos have grown up… and that’s why I do it every time.
