Eagles Theatre Wedding in Wabash | Jenie & Nate

After 12 years of being together, Jenie and Nate became husband and wife with their beautiful Eagles Theatre wedding in Wabash on August 17, 2024. Even with uncertainty with the weather, their day was absolutely perfect from start to finish!

Jenie and Nate shared that they had planned to elope and go with the small intimate ceremony. But as they started thinking about what their wedding day could look like, they envisioned that it would be the perfect opportunity for a family reunion of sorts.

With a very short timeline of about a month, Jenie and Nate planned for an intimate ceremony at Charley Creek Inn Cloud Club with family and very close friends, then a larger reception across the street at Eagles Theatre in Wabash.

I met with Jenie and Nate for their engagement session a week before their wedding, after they had gotten back from biking almost 400 miles across Iowa! Their love of biking became a theme of their wedding day, with different touches of bike decor, including a decorated Schwinn twin bike and the most incredible wedding cake that was designed as a bike path down a mountain. I had never seen anything like it!

Jenie and Nate opted to start their photography coverage after they had gotten ready, so I met them at Charley Creek Gardens in Wabash for their first look. Because the weather looked like it would rain during portrait time, we bumped everything up by a half hour and were met with the most gorgeous moody lighting for their portraits!

Their first look was incredibly special, as they just took in the moment and admired what the other was wearing. Jenie was in a dress she bought off Ebay as an Anthropologie original, and she looked absolutely stunning. We walked through Charley Creek Gardens, and there was no lack of amazing spots for their portraits. With no wedding party, we had a ton of time to dedicate to their portraits, which is a gift on busy wedding days!

When it looked like it might start to rain again, we headed back to Charley Creek Inn to get ready for the ceremony. Their family and friends began to gather in the Cloud Club on the roof of Charley Creek Inn, and Jenie walked down the aisle with her Aunt Nan by her side. It was incredible witnessing the emotions in the moment, and I was so thankful to be able to capture such a sweet memory.

After Jenie and Nate were pronounced husband and wife, they headed over to the wedding reception at Eagles Theatre, but not without stopping for a big family photo under the theatre marquee, where their names were displayed for the night. Such a cool touch to their wedding day!

Jenie and Nate entered the reception as the “Rocky” theme song rang through the speakers, and they enjoyed their first meal as a married couple with all their friends and family. After dinner, their friends shared in toasts to celebrate the newlyweds, and I loved getting to hear the stories they shared; it’s definitely always one of my favorite parts of wedding days!

After toasts, Jenie and Nate chose to skip the first dance and instead performed a “first song,” which was a first for me! But both are very talented and rather sing than dance, so it was the perfect choice for them. They had their guests laughing as they performed the song, which was a great segway into opening the dance floor for their guests.

As the night wrapped up, I took Jenie and Nate outside for one last photo as a couple under the theatre marquee, with the sun shining after a crazy weather day.

Jenie and Nate, your Eagles Theatre wedding in Wabash was just perfect for the two of you. I am absolutely honored you chose me to capture all your incredibly special moments and to be a witness to your love. Thank you again for choosing me, and I hope you have many amazing years and adventures together. Enjoy your previews!
