Meeting through a small group at their church, Stephanie and Matt’s relationship has been one that has been fostered through friendship and time. The two began their friendship spending time with their friends, but with time on their side, their relationship has blossomed into love for one another and a relationship to serve Christ and others.
I’ve actually known Stephanie for a number of years through a mutual friend, so it was a blast to get to know her and Matt through our initial meetings about their wedding photography. These two are so fun to be around and it’s very obvious how deeply Matt cares for Stephanie through his actions and words.
Leading up to their engagement session, I was just hoping that the rain showers would steer clear for the evening, and we lucked out. The cloudy skies set the perfect backdrop, and we enjoyed an evening in Highland Park and Downtown Kokomo.
In fact, Stephanie and Matt pointed out that their first photo together – even better, their first selfie! – was taken in the beautiful, popular alleyway in Downtown Kokomo across from the courthouse. We made sure to spend a good chunk of time there to capture their memories from when they first started dating.
One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions is couples incorporating their life into the session. It’s not so much about just posing and getting comfortable in front of the camera as much as it is capturing the spirit of you and your fiancé. So when Stephanie asked if she could bring her dog Suda along to be a part of the session, as well, I was totally excited! He is going to be a part of this little family, too, very soon!
These two are genuine and kind, and I’m so excited to shoot their wedding in June as they celebrate becoming husband and wife! Enjoy the rest of your sneak peeks!
