Without the help of Emily’s cousin moving away, it’s possible this fun-loving duo may have never came to be. Trae first met Emily through her cousin at her going away party, and now engaged and living on the property they hope to build their forever home on, these two have big plans for their future, including getting married!
Emily and Trae purchased the property across the road from where Emily grew up, and they completely renovated the old farmhouse that stands on the property. Surrounded by gorgeous trees and open grassy areas, this was the perfect spot for their session, and I am thrilled to share their country engagement photos in Peru, Indiana on the blog!
During our initial booking call, Emily shared about their first date where they went to Applebee’s and she ordered a cheeseburger without any cheese. She said, “I’ll never forget Trae’s face when I ordered it. After the waiter walks away, he says, ‘So did you just get a plain hamburger?'” She responded, “Yeah, I did. I know it’s kind of weird but they are so good.” She said Trae was still so confused, and he asked, “So what do you put on it?” She said, “Oh, just pepper.” She said he just laughed and will never let her forget that date as he always shares that story!
Trae and Emily hope to build their dream home on part of their property someday, so it was extra special when Trae proposed to Emily at home. He had their dogs Titus and Bear help with the proposal, creating signs for them to wear, asking mom to marry dad. Of course Emily said yes, and they began planning their September 2023 wedding at Eads Barn!
I enjoyed getting to know these two better as we walked around their property chasing the beautiful foliage, and we even took some photos in the area where they hope to build their future forever home. I cannot wait for them to be able to look back on their engagement photos in a few years and remember the simple beginnings before more of their future unfolded.
Congratulations on your engagement, Emily and Trae, and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding next fall! Enjoy your sneak peeks!
