Jessica and Jordan chose to save the gender reveal for the day they delivered their first born. To their surprise, delivery day was a month ahead of her due date, arriving on Memorial Day. Thankfully, these two had planned ahead and the nursery was prepared with the essentials, making their colorful Muncie newborn session absolutely perfect when they arrived home from the hospital!
Sweet baby girl Charlie Joane was an unexpected part of their holiday weekend celebrations! We had actually just photographed their maternity session in Muncie four days prior to Charlie’s birth date, and they had loaded up the car with the carseat to be extra prepared the day before her birth.
With inspiration from a blanket Jessica had crafted, they pulled together a gender-neutral nursery full of bright, colorful elements, including an amazing wall treatment she painted on the wall behind the crib.
For the two of them, Charlie was a name that they had really liked from the beginning. Jessica told me they had considered one other name, but Charlie was just the one that stuck. It is also a subtle nod to the university that holds a lot of their history – Ball State – with their mascot Charlie Cardinal. Her middle name, Joane, is the perfect combination of their two mothers’ middle names – Jo and Ane.
Overall, Charlie was such a happy girl to hang out and let me take her photos for her session. I am so happy to have been able to capture this milestone for Jessica and Jordan and get to meet the little Nugget they have adored and have fallen in love with in just a short time. Thank you both for allowing me to capture this season for you, and I hope you enjoy all the sneak peeks!
