Walking into the hospital room in Kokomo, new mom Ali greeted me with a smile on her face and introduced me to little Charlotte – affectionally nicknamed Charlie. Ali and her husband Matt booked me as their newborn photographer, and they added on this Fresh 48 session, as well!
Called Fresh 48, these sessions take place within 48 hours of your newborn’s arrival at the hospital where you deliver. I love when parents are willing to add on these sessions to their newborn and maternity packages, because this is exactly where the new chapter of your life begins.
Between birth and your newborn session, your baby’s details will already change so much. These sessions allow me to capture the smallest details, like their tiny fingers and toes and the way their little hairs curl, and the images help you remember those fresh details.
Charlie is the sweetest newborn, who barely cried or made a peep the entire time I was there. Only as I was preparing to leave did she start to get a little restless, and Ali knew it was time to feed her. While her delivery was not an easy one, I know Ali would say that Charlie was the reward that made the pain of labor so worth it.
Ali and Matt were so relaxed with handing Charlie, and she sure made it easy to be relaxed with her calm demeanor. I can’t wait to photograph their lifestyle newborn session later this week, where we will get to capture Charlie in the place she will call home. Enjoy these sneak peeks!
