Brittany & Dakota’s Summer Wedding at Legacy Barn
Brittany and Dakota had a gorgeous summer wedding at Legacy Barn in Kokomo, surrounded by their closest family and friends. For a sunny August afternoon, we couldn’t have asked for better weather with the temperatures in the high 70s.
They first met at a concert on his birthday, where they followed it some line dancing at a bar. I loved that Brittany and Dakota incorporated a lot of line dancing into their reception, especially since that was part of the story of how they first met. Dakota proposed at Christmas in 2019, and of course Brittany said yes, and the rest has been history.
Their wedding at Legacy Barn was beautiful! Brittany chose burgundy and cream as her colors, with sunflowers as her main flowers throughout the venue. She had the most stunning bouquets, made up of sunflowers and burgundy details.
What was most important to Brittany and Dakota was time spent with family and friends on the day of their wedding. When we arrived, Brittany was finishing getting ready while hanging out with her bridesmaids. Dakota and his groomsmen spent time outside the bullpen hanging out.
Brittany arranged for three first looks, starting with her grandpa. I’ve never seen a first look as sweet as this one! I was having to hold back tears behind the camera as I photographed him seeing her for the first time. I loved when he said to Brittany, “I just can’t stop looking at you!” Her second first look was with her siblings. They were all in tears seeing her for the first time, which of course made Brittany cry, too! Last, we saved her first look with Dakota right before they took their portraits.
After their beautiful ceremony, the reception kicked off with an amazing meal of chicken with bacon jam, macaroni and cheese, baby potatoes, and salad. Then the real fun began with Brittany and Dakota leading their guests in lots of line dancing! It was so fun watching Brittany teach her guests how to do certain dances, and I could tell she was having so much fun.
Brittany and Dakota, thank you so much for having me to capture and celebrate your marriage! I wish you both nothing but all the love in the world as you start your new adventure as husband and wife. Enjoy your sneak peeks!
