After their initial big wedding was postponed in May due to the COVID pandemic, Lindsey and Tanner didn’t want to wait any longer to be married and pledged their lives to each other with the most intimate Story Inn elopement in October.

Their love story began when Tanner first added Lindsey on Facebook then sent her a message about two weeks later. Tanner used to work with Lindsey’s father about 10 years ago, and when Tanner noticed Lindsey in a photo with her father, he reached out to her and they clicked right away. Tanner said that he fell in love quickly because of her genuine spirit, and as he fell deeper in love, he knew there was no way he ever wanted to live his life without her by his side.
For their proposal, Tanner planned a romantic getaway to Brown County, but Lindsey had no idea he was going to propose. Tanner had asked Lindsey’s father for his blessing, and during a walk around Brown County State Park, Tanner asked Lindsey to be his wife and of course she said yes!
When their original wedding date was postponed, they dreamed up the idea of getting married in the same place where they were engaged – Brown County, Indiana. Both Lindsey and Tanner are from Illinois, but they often visit Indiana and love the Brown County area. It seemed like a perfect fit to plan their elopement for such a meaningful place for them.
On a crisp Thursday afternoon in October under the canopy of string lights, Tanner and Lindsey stood before their officiant Victoria from Marry Me in Indy! and Lindsey’s parents, and they exchanged their vows to become husband and wife. Story Inn was the perfect location for their fall elopement in Brown County, and we were so fortunate that the fall foliage was on display!
After their elopement ceremony at Story Inn, Lindsey and Tanner hung out with me for their couples portraits around the property, with Lindsey rocking her custom made jean jacket. Then we headed out to Brown County State Park to wrap up our time, and Lindsey and Tanner had picked a stunning overlook with the most amazing fall foliage I’ve seen! We even had a little fog creeping in that evening, after the nonstop rain earlier in the day cleared out in time for their ceremony.
