Sabrina and David had planned on a September baby, but September came and went, and baby Ezra finally made his arrival close to midnight on October 1! While his Fresh 48 session looked quite different than previously planned with hospitals still on COVID restrictions, we were able to do his Kokomo newborn session and Fresh 48 sessions in the comfort and safety of their own home.
Ezra’s sessions were extra special to me because I’ve known Sabrina for quite a number of years, and with them buying their first home just a couple of months before his arrival, it was fun to get to see their new home and photograph Ezra where he will spend his years growing up.
Our original plan of photographing his Fresh 48 after his birth at the hospital was quickly changed to an in-home Fresh 48 session the morning after they returned home from the hospital. It was a rainy Sunday morning, but the large beautiful windows in their living room let in a ton of light despite the gray sky outside. Ezra was happiest during this session when he was able to have his pacifier and cuddles with mom and dad.
When I returned for their newborn session a couple weeks later, Sabrina and David had finished the nursery, completely decked out in a Toy Story theme. They did an incredible job bringing in all sorts of decor to bring the theme to life (thanks, Etsy!), and I loved that we got to photograph in this space that Ezra will grow up in.
Sabrina and David, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph this season of your life – maternity, Fresh 48, and newborn session. It has been such a joy to watch your family go from 2 to 3, and I’m thrilled for you both! Here’s to many great adventures as a family in the years to come. Enjoy your sneak peeks!
